Microsoft has terminated the support for SQL Server 2008 and 2008 R2 since July 9, 2019. Therefore, Microsoft no longer provides patches or security updates, and only paid extended security updates are available. Extended Security Updates include the provision of Security Updates and Bulletins rated "critical" for a maximum of three years after July 9, 2019. Alibaba Cloud no longer provides patch updates service for ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server 2008 R2 after July 9, 2019. You can purchase the extended security update service directly from Microsoft, and then submit a ticket to Alibaba Cloud engineers to request patch upgrades.
