Introduction:

Recently, Forrester, a global research and advisory firm, has released The Forrester Wave™: Public Cloud Platforms, Q4 2024. Alibaba Cloud is the only Chinese vendor to have been named as a Leader in this report, achieving the highest score possible in 17 criteria.

In its evaluation of global public cloud platform providers against 30 criteria, Forrester identified the most significant providers and conducted thorough research, analysis, and scoring.

The Forrester report states, “Alibaba has long dominated cloud market share in China. Alibaba also maintains a significant global presence and is a source of cloud technology innovation". Alibaba Cloud received the highest score possible of 5 in 17 criteria, such as Database services, Data integration services, AI development services, Container and Kubernetes services, Serverless/FaaS services, Compute services, and Storage services.

Per the Forrester report, “Alibaba showed its capacity for AI innovation with its homegrown AI models, breadth of foundation model choices, and model-as-a-service innovation.
