About Ztore
Ztore (Ztore.com) is a Hong Kong based online shopping platform, with the aim of delivering a better living experience to customers through high quality products. Ztore sources its products directly and its inventory spans more than 10,000 products worldwide, including full case beverages, groceries, baby and mother care products, household and electronic appliances, and skincare and cosmetics products.
With Ztore, customers can conveniently have products delivered right to their doorstep at an affordable price. Alternatively, Ztore customers can simply pick up their orders at more than 1,000 self-pick-up points and lockers. Shopping is easy, carefree, and enjoyable at Ztore.
Challenge
The retail and e-commerce sectors are now inseparable thanks to the rise of new technologies and the shift in consumer behavior. As the growth of Ztore's business picked up pace, it faced increasing competition in the already saturated retail market. Moreover, it needed to improve the efficiency of its transactions for its e-commerce business, and bring more efficient supply from sellers in order to stay ahead of the competition. Ztore's legacy architecture was no longer capable of adapting to the constant change in demands from its customers.
Why Alibaba Cloud
Ztore needed a trusted and experienced cloud vendor, one that could provide the brand with not only best-in-class cloud services but also industry expertise and know-how in the retail sector. Alibaba Cloud was able to provide Ztore with a strong e-commerce foundation, owing to its experience in supporting the entire Alibaba ecosystem for more than a decade. In addition, Alibaba Cloud has developed a number of innovative services specifically for e-commerce, including the powerful OpenSearch service. This enabled Ztore to provide its customers with high search efficiency and accuracy, as well as intelligent search services.
Architecture
In addition to Alibaba Cloud's IaaS offering, Ztore benefitted greatly from Alibaba's proprietary OpenSearch service. OpenSearch provides the Ztore team with a one-stop platform to develop its own intelligent search services for e-commerce. Through the OpenSearch service, Ztore no longer needed to worry about manually developing and maintaining its search services, allowing it to focus on ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of its search services.
Alibaba Cloud's Short Message Service (SMS) was also crucial in enabling Ztore to supercharge its marketing capabilities. Through the SMS API, Ztore could easily reach out to its customers with user-friendly, efficient, and intelligent communication capabilities.
