UQPay is a payment technology-driven company that provides businesses, customers, and merchants with an open platform and one-stop global payment solutions based on full-scene applications, multi-channel acceptance, and end-to-end connectivity. UQPay was founded in 2015 with an HQ in Singapore and subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Challenge
As a digital payment platform, UQPay faced a number of challenges to maintain strong competitiveness. One of the essential requirements was to be constantly available and secure, with robust technical support. Additionally, regulatory risks are the biggest threat to FinTech, and UQPay had to adhere to a complex set of regulations. Compliance can be a daunting process to undertake, but it is essential for ensuring the safety and security of users' data.

In the past, when the platform hit maximum capacity, there were periods of downtime that resulted in missed transactions and customer frustration. Architecture
UQPay leveraged several Alibaba Cloud products to overcome its challenges and achieve its goals. UQPay used Elastic Compute Service (ECS) to scale capacity based on real-time traffic, Server Load Balancer (SLB) to efficiently handle traffic spikes during peak times, and NAT Gateway was used to enable cross-zone disaster recovery.
UQPay handles massive volumes of data with high elasticity and low cost using Alibaba Cloud's database solutions. UQPay used ApsaraDB for RDS was used to support scalability needs and Data Transmission Service (DTS) to manage data synchronization activities.
UQPay used Alibaba Rabbit MQ service to address issues that occurred in the open-source version, simplifying the multiple management complexity of asynchronous messaging.
