PT Financial Services Sharing (DanaRupiah) is an online lending company. The company’s consumer financing services include cash loans and productive loans for the agriculture and education sectors. Rupiah cash loans offer low interest, and with the service being completely online, obtaining a cash loan with DanaRupiah is fast and easy and can be done completely on a smart phone. Since the company was first established, Rupiah has already supported more than 4 million transactions in the form of new loans and recurring loans.

With DanaRupiah being an online lending company registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), DanaRupiah must have full compliance with all related regulations, including those related to data security, data residency, and disaster recovery, as well as requirements related to cross-region network stability. To be able to meet all of these compliance and data location regulation, DanaRupiah requires a comprehensive cloud infrastructure solution, specifically one that can ensure network stability and the overall availability of DanaRupiah’s online services.

Alibaba Cloud implemented a comprehensive Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) architecture that involves several computing, storage, database and networking services. The proposed architecture uses Alibaba Cloud Elastic Compute Service (ECS) and ApsaraDB for Redis to provide the necessary scalability and performance to power the applications behind DanaRupiah’s online financial services, and the proposed architecture also involves several of Alibaba Cloud’s networking products including Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN), VPN Gateway, Server Load Balancer (SLB), and Elastic IP. Together, these products help DanaRupiah to maintain better network quality by facilitating secure and low latency connections while also providing DanaRupiah with greater flexibility in managing the related networking resources. Last, for a cost-effective storage solution, Alibaba Cloud Object Storage Service (OSS) was implemented. The proposed architecture has also provided DanaRupiah with a comprehensive disaster recovery solution, which has helped the company achieve full compliance with data location regulation.
