Adira Finance was established in 1990, and is now one of the biggest financing companies in Indonesia, which helps customers from all over Indonesia have the necessary funds to purchase new or used motorcycles. Adira has 588 branches across Indonesia, employing over 20,000 people.

Given the diverse landscape and demographics of Indonesia, it is difficult for Adira to expand its business in a cost effective manner, most particularly its underlying IT infrastructure. Therefore, one challenge that Adira faces is that it requires a more cost-effective solution to expanding and building out its underlying IT infrastructure. Through Alibaba Cloud's cloud computing infrastructure, Adira Finance can achieve a scalable and more flexible management system through a hybrid cloud architecture that is more cost effective than its existing systems.

In the Asia-Pacific cloud computing market, Alibaba Cloud offers one of the most complete and mature cloud infrastructures. This is important for Adira because Adira requires a hybrid cloud solution that can cover the computing, database, networking, and security sides of its IT infrastructure. Another reason that Adira chose Alibaba Cloud is because Alibaba is well known for its dedication in providing flexible and cost-effective solutions for its customers, allowing companies like Adira to build a solution that best matches its needs. With Adira Finance, the solution provided by Alibaba Cloud involves a number of Alibaba Cloud's core products and critical applications that run on Alibaba Cloud and SAP S/4HANA solutions for ERP (SAP) and HCM (SAP) systems. Through this diverse array of solutions, Alibaba Cloud can help Adira to improve the overall integration and management operations of its overall IT systems, saving costs by more flexibly using resources.

The cloud computing architecture implemented for Adira is a complete system of products and services fulfilling the computing, database, networking, and security requirements of Adira. Given Alibaba Cloud’s strong presence in Indonesia as well as its technical capabilities for running large-scale SAP workloads, Adira chose to run SAP on Alibaba Cloud for hosting the development environment of both ERP and HCM applications. Alibaba Cloud products like Elastic Compute Service (ECS), Server Load Balancer (SLB), and Express Connect have helped to replaced existing computing and networking systems, and in particular, both ECS and SLB together have helped to provide elastic networking and computing services that can easily respond to traffic spikes through distributed traffic and elastic computing. Next, Express Connect supports Adira's underlying network systems through improving overall connectivity. Adira used Alibaba Cloud ApsaraDB RDS and Object Storage Service (OSS) for its database and storage needs, both of which save costs by using resources more flexibly. Last, Adira has employed Alibaba Cloud Web Application Firewall (WAF) for its on-cloud monitoring and security needs. WAF provides industry-standard security for effective detection and blocking of malicious traffic.

By leveraging the strengths of Alibaba Cloud and SAP, Adira is able to modernize its infrastructure from an on-premises model into a hybrid model; shorten the provision time with less than two weeks; achieve faster processing time and secured private connection; prove cost-saving and efficiency with robust SLA; and use right-fit instances designed memory-intensive workloads. Moving forward, Adira hopes to continue to leverage the service solutions provided by Alibaba Cloud to maximize its business plan and be agile in its ability to continue to serve its diverse body of customers across Indonesia.
