Alibaba Cloud Partners with Korea Indie Game Association to Support Game Developer

Alibaba Cloud partners with Korea Indie Game Association to boost digital transformation of small and medium-sized game companies in Korea and accelerate their entry into the global market.

Seoul, Korea, October 27 2022 - Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba group, announced that it has partnered with the Korea Indie Game Association, a corporation that supports the growth of the domestic game industry, to boost digital transformation of small and medium-sized game companies in Korea and accelerate their entry into the global market.

Under the terms of the partnership, Alibaba Cloud will provide free cloud-related training and professional consultation to Korea’s leading independent game companies. Eligible Korean businesses will benefit from easy access to advanced cloud computing technologies and ecosystem support from Alibaba Cloud.

Leveraging Alibaba Cloud’s leading technologies and global infrastructure, Korean gaming companies will be able to expand into overseas market – especially Southeast Asia – more smoothly and efficiently. Alibaba Cloud will also assist game companies in engaging with local and global investors to help grow their business internationally.

We are excited about working with the Korea Indie Game Association to help more independent Korean game companies with outstanding flair, creativity, and potential, to gain recognition, grow rapidly and expand overseas,” said Unique Song, general manager of Korea and Japan, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.

With 85 availability zones in 28 regions globally, Alibaba Cloud entered the Korean market in 2016 and established its first data center in Korea in March of this year. It has introduced proven technologies from the Alibaba ecosystem to serve a wide array of Korean customers in various industries including retail, finance, media & entertainment, and internet companies. It also announced plans to continue to invest in Korean businesses by fostering digital talent and expanding local recruitment.

Last year, Alibaba Cloud announced a support program for Korean SMEs in the gaming sector to provides tailored support that addresses pain points for the industry. The program includes regular meetings with Alibaba Cloud technical experts and access to the company’s Asia business expansion services.
