Alibaba Cloud Elastic Compute Service (ECS) is a reliable, efficient, and secure cloud computing service. ECS provides a good environment for on-chain businesses. It can also reduce the waiting time for businesses and improve the success rate. The following is a complete guide to ECS in on-chain business scenarios.
Create an Alibaba Cloud account on the Alibaba Cloud international site and bind a payment method, your credit card or PayPal, to your Alibaba Cloud account. For more information, see Create an Account and Introduction to Alibaba Cloud Payment.
Alibaba Cloud provides multiple ECS instance types, including CPU, GPU, and ECS bare metal instances. Here, we select the CPU only ECS instance for business deployment. Click this link to purchase the appropriate ECS instance type and region. When you select an ECS instance, you need to select the instance type and configurations based on your needs. Considering the high cost of computing power recently, we recommend the universal instance family (u) or economy instance family (e).
When you purchase and configure an ECS instance, you need to select the Linux or Windows operating system image according to the operating system supported by the On-chain business client. For more information, see Nodes and Clients.
Installation and configuration of the On-chain business client are critical for your business. You can use clients such as Ethereum Wallet, Geth, or Parity. After the installation is completed, you need to download the blockchain data, which will take some time. For more information, see Nodes and Clients.
To improve security, you need to configure a firewall on the ECS instance. Alibaba Cloud provides security groups to protect ECS instances. You can configure security groups based on your needs.
After completing the steps above, you can start the business program. You need to run an On-chain business application, such as Claymore Dual Miner, to start the business, and update network information frequently to maximize business results.
